The parenting curriculum imparts information about the impact of trauma and builds skills in nonviolent communication. In one class, participants are invited to reflect on their own childhood and on how this impacts their parenting today. We have found that it is essential for participants have an opportunity to process their own childhood experiences before attempting to facilitate classes themselves.
