VIRTUAL: Integrating Self-Havening into Crisis Intervention

As humans, we’ve all experienced crises from time to time. Whether caused by a stressful job, unexpected news, or life transitions, the brain can navigate these crises effectively with the right knowledge and skills. In Echo’s new training, Integrating Self-Havening into Crisis Intervention, participants will gain the tools necessary to help someone soothe their brain through a crisis state.
Chock-full of essential information for teachers, therapists, and everyday learners, participants will not only learn the neuroscience of a brain in crisis but will develop skills to build positive, lasting changes to the brain to empower them moving forward.
- Establish a working understanding of the neurobiology of a brain in crisis
- Identify at least 2 barriers to calming a brain in a crisis state
- Explain the relationship between anxiety/fear and our thinking brain – “Self”
- Learn and practice at least 3 neuroscience-based interventions to help ground a brain in crisis
Dates: Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 | 8am-12:30pm PST
Location: Live training via Zoom. Zoom link and extra details will be sent out a week prior to the training date.

Dr. Kate Truitt is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who believes the brain holds the inherent capacity to transcend and transform the complex and beautiful relationship between nature and nurture. Utilizing her training as a neuroscience and clinical psychologist, along with her MBA in Healthcare Administration, Dr. Truitt has passionately dedicated her life to advancing the treatment of Trauma ans Stress-Related Disorders. Her clinical practice, scientific studies, and trainings are specialized in the treatment of PTSD/Complex Trauma, panic disorders and anxiety, phobias, as well as other amygdala-based disorders. Her research focuses on brain health during the recovery process, treatment outcomes, and psychophysiology. Dr. Truitt consults nationwide for trauma treatment programs, leads research initiatives, and provides trainings on trauma as well as personal empowerment through her training organization, Viva Excellence.
