SUMMARY:Trauma Responsive Play
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that adult-child play creates a life-long template for emotional resilience? \nIt’s how we play with children – not how much – that gives them a natural advantage in coping with childhood stressors and builds confident\, competent\, creative thinkers who are better prepared to step up to life’s curveballs. Through play\, children learn how to stay calm in the face of difficulties\, observe and describe their emotions\, try on flexible perspectives\, act on their own initiative\, and experiment with new solutions until the problem is solved. \nIn this interactive training parents and professionals will learn how to support children in developing the brainpower to counteract everyday stress as well as extreme forms of trauma – and the challenging behaviors that sometimes arise out of these survival moments. \nJoin us to learn key strategies for boosting a child’s emotional immune system so they can navigate the challenges of growing up feeling brave\, optimistic\, and solution-focused. \nTopics covered: \n· The neuroscience of play\n· The research connecting socially engaged play and resilience\n· How playful attunement builds brains from the bottom up\n· Strategies to activate and shape a child’s brain\n· Self-regulation strategies for the adult \n\n \n \n \n	\n \n Download Flyer\n \n \n \n	\n \n \nDetails\nDates: Thursday\, June 13\, 2019 | 9am-4:30pm\nCost: $95 Early Bird | Standard Rate: $125  | Group Rate: $75 /person minimum of 3 people\nLocation: The California Endowment\, 1000 N. SUMMARY:2019 Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:At our conference you will be able to explore for yourself a variety of new and traditional forms of healing that are body-based. Some of these practices draw on centuries of cultural wisdom (such as yoga\, gardening\, and dance) and some are exciting new frontiers in trauma recovery (such as EMDR\, neurofeedback and EFT). A few have already acquired ‘evidence-based’ status but many others are still waiting for science to catch up. On this theme\, Viejas Tribal Chairman Dr. Pico will share with us current research into First Nation healing modalities. \nThe many interactive workshops will have you getting out of your chair and into your body as we celebrate the resources nature gave us. Come explore with us the new frontier of trauma recovery. \n\n \n \n \n	\n \n Download Flyer\n \n \n \n	\n \n \nDetails\nDates:March 18 – 19\, 2019 | 9am-4:30pm\nCost: $325 Early Bird | Standard Rate: $360  | Group Rate: $300/person minimum of 3 people\nLocation: The California Endowment\, 1000 N.
\nTopics covered: \n· The neuroscience of play\n· The research connecting socially engaged play and resilience\n· How playful attunement builds brains from the bottom up\n· Strategies to activate and shape a child’s brain\n· Self-regulation strategies for the adult \n\n \n \n \n	\n \n Download Flyer\n \n \n \n	\n \n \nDetails\nDates: Thursday\, February 28\, 2019 | 9am-4:30pm\nCost: $95 Early Bird | Standard Rate: $125  | Group Rate: $75 /person minimum of 3 people\nLocation: The California Endowment\, 1000 N.
