There is increasing evidence that life stress is linked to Dementia and Alzheimer’s. \nIn this training\, we will also look at the factors that are scientifically proven to make us resilient against cognitive and physical decline\, such as a positive outlook. \nUndertanding how to provide trauma-informed elder care not only prevents further trauma\, but also ensures the safety\, dignity and agency older people need to thrive. \nTopics covered in the training include: \n\nChildhood trauma and ACES\nTrauma and the brain\nCumulative effects of toxic stress\nHow toxic stress and trauma manifest in older adults\nPrinciples of trauma-informed care\nNervous system regulation for caregivers and older adults\n\nThis is our Trauma & Resilience Pt.
